Please note: The technique described here uses Photoshop's Lense Distortion Filter (available in PS CS3 and up). However, the basics can be done in older Photoshop versions, too, the tools are scattered all over the place though and thus may be hard to find.

the vintaging tool is to remove 'light fall off' at the edge of the pictures. this is originally caused by the lens used on the camera(some lenses have more of it and some less, it's ideal the lens doesn't have it at all.
