I'm all for practicing photoshop skills and you're welcome to use my images to do that as long as you credit me (which I know you do) and don't sell the outcome in any way (which I know you don't -- so no worries), but I feel I need to at least point out to you that this kind of alteration is not a photomanip (it only is one if you use more than one image, textures excluded). Technically, what you did was to use darkroom techniques, but to post something in the darkroom category (which is a photography category) you'd have to have shot the image yourself. So as far as dA goes, there is no fitting category for what you did, the most fitting that come to mind are Digital Art > Misc or your scraps... It's up to you where you put your image (you can also just leave it where it is, I don't have a problem with that) I just wanted to point this out to you because you seem to be very fond of practicing your darkroom techniques and other stock providers may not like their images to be used for this in any way (no matter where you categorize it into) as they will not see a significant enough change to their image for their rules to be fulfilled (goes for other stock site terms of use, like sxc.hu for example, too and this is also the reason I would not allow commercial use in this case) and they'll give you a really hard time about it... so just a heads up, if you will.
Thank you for this reply, it clarified some things for me! ... I like this kind of alteration ( image processing or, as you've wrote, darkroom techniques ) more than photomanipulations ( I Do know what photomanips is btw... but thank you anyway! ) mostly because I'm too lazy And don't want to waste Alot time on one image. -I'm just practicing photoshop skills. Secondly I really don't like all those fairy things ). About providers stock: as long as they doesn't restrict such edit ( if there's no any notes about it in their rules often I ask them if they don't mind me using their stock ) I use it. I know that there is no category for what I'm doing. Thanks for the tip... I'll use it.
Sorry for messy reply And thanks for spent Your time to write the comment/reply!
